One Point and a Safety Car

In my opinion the Mexico Grand Prix was the most entertaining race so far of the season, safety cars, battles and crashes all contributed to the drama and anxiety-inducing moments of the Mexico Grand Prix.

During the last few laps of the race, we saw two incredible battles; Verstappen vs Leclerc for the second-place position and Bearman vs Piastri for the fourth-place position. The tense battles were cut short due to the safety car deployed because of Sainz. Bearman earned my driver of the day's vote; he is still in his rookie season and managed to get a Haas into fourth position. I do love my McLaren team, but I love underdog stories, especially ones about a rookie.

This race played perfectly into Norris’ hand; the safety car resulted in Piastri only earning 10 points and Norris earning 25, projecting him into the lead of the Drivers’ Championship by only one-point. This safety car also denied Verstappen in earning an additional three points, and losing the battle against Leclerc, putting him 36 points behind the new leader Norris instead of the 33 points he attempted.

The constant happening of this race was definitely one to rewatch.
